Unscripted Ink opened inside the Untitled Hotel at 3 Freeman Alley in January 2024 — the first tattoo studio in New York City to have permanent residency in a hotel.
Freeman Alley has always attracted people who notice things. Now, at the end of it, there's a tattoo studio that feels closer to a private atelier than a storefront shop. The space is quiet, intentional, and built around the work. Lighting is warm, floors are wood, and the only sound you hear between songs is the machine.
Founder and owner Liv Novotny built Unscripted with six artists who each bring a distinct voice — fine line, illustrative color, black & grey realism, anime, neo-tribal blackwork, and pop-culture black & grey. Whether you're a hotel guest, a first-timer, or a serious collector, you'll find a studio that takes the craft seriously without taking itself too seriously.
